Terms and Conditions: AfroPolitan Berlin
An initiative of Forum Brasil e.V. (effective as of January 2022)
- General Information
- The General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all participants in events—including courses, workshops, seminars, and concerts—held as part of the AfroPolitan Berlin project (hereinafter “AfroPolitan Berlin”).
- Unless otherwise stated, all AfroPolitan Berlin events take place at the Forum Brasil e.V. (hereinafter “Forum Brasil”) premises in Berlin/Kreuzberg.
- There are no classes on public holidays—with the exception of weekend workshops.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas of Forum Brasil.
- Bringing alcoholic beverages onto the premises of Forum Brasil, as well as bringing or consuming hallucinogenic substances, is prohibited.
- Forum Brasil is usually closed for four weeks between Christmas and New Year’s and during the summer school break, and no activities are held during that time.
- The project and organization are positioned as safe spaces for all Black people and perspectives. We do not tolerate any form of racism, sexism, body shaming, ableism (hostility toward people with disabilities), classism, or hatred and discrimination against queer and trans people. We reserve the right to remove anyone from the premises who engages in discrimination of any kind.
- Course or Workshop Registrations
- Registration for workshops and courses is done by email at Info@afropolitan.berlin
- Your spot is not officially reserved until the applicable participation fees have been received in the project account.
- Registration for workshops, courses, and seminars is binding. Refunds of participation fees at short notice are not possible, except in justified exceptional cases.
- A necessary shift to an online format for workshops and courses (e.g., due to COVID-19) does not entitle participants to a refund of participation fees already paid, except in justified exceptional cases.
- Accident Insurance / Liability
- Participants are not covered by Forum Brasil’s accident insurance when attending AfroPolitan Berlin events. Use of the premises and participation in events are at your own risk. In particular, Forum Brasil is not liable for the loss of personal property.
- Information and explanations provided by instructors and workshop leaders are intended solely for the immediate implementation of the respective continuing education program. No claims for liability may be derived from them.
- Each course participant is personally liable for any injuries that may occur before, during, or after events.
- Privacy / Copyright
- Forum Brasil processes and uses personal data for administrative purposes or for the purpose of fulfilling contracts. The data is not disclosed to third parties. The data is handled in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations under the EU GDPR of May 25, 2018. Berlin.
- Miscellaneous
- AfroPolitan Berlin reserves the right to make changes to the instructors or course leaders, or to reschedule events, as necessary.
- Meal costs are not included in the event fees, unless expressly noted in the program.
